Kinley Gyeltshen is an education leader and Physics educator with over 25 years of progressive leadership and professional experience across classroom teaching, school leadership, and district-level education administration. His career reflects a sustained commitment to strengthening educational quality, governance, and equity through evidence-informed leadership and strong pedagogical practice. He has served in senior leadership capacities, including Principal and Chief District Education Officer, where he provided strategic oversight of institutional management, policy implementation, curriculum governance, and system-wide educational planning.
His work has included teacher recruitment and deployment, professional development planning, instructional supervision, school improvement initiatives, and stakeholder engagement with central agencies, local authorities, and communities. He has played a key role in translating national education reforms into effective school-level practice. As a subject specialist, he is the author of Bhutan’s national Physics textbooks for Classes IX and X, contributing significantly to the development of competency-based curricula aligned with national learning goals. He has been closely involved in curriculum design, assessment frameworks, examination moderation, and syllabus review processes at the national level, bringing classroom realities into policy and curriculum decision-making. His contributions have helped strengthen coherence between curriculum intent, pedagogy, and assessment practice.
