EduPlus is pleased to welcome Zara Biesse from Australia as our Youth Associate. Zara is a high-achieving prospective law student with strong interests in commerce, communication, and cross-cultural engagement. Recognised for her academic excellence and leadership potential, she is committed to applying analytical thinking and strong organisational skills to practical business and legal problem-solving.
Zara completed her high school education through the Cairns School of Distance Education and has received several academic distinctions, including the QUT Executive Dean’s Award for Excellence in Humanities and Social Sciences, as well as subject awards in General Business, Legal Studies, and Italian. Her qualifications include a Certificate IV in Justice Studies, a Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways, a Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation, and an AMEB Piano Comprehensive.
Zara’s earlier professional experiences include working as a private piano teacher in Queensland, where she developed customised lesson plans and prepared students for AMEB examinations, as well as serving as a Retail Sales Assistant at Ghanda Clothing, delivering strong customer service and supporting daily retail operations. She was also a Master of Ceremonies for Jabchor 2.0, a Bhutanese government initiative that connects local entrepreneurs with domestic and international investors.
Currently based in Thimphu, Bhutan, Zara supports program planning, coordination, implementation, documentation, and stakeholder engagement. Beyond her professional work, Zara is actively involved in community service, youth engagement, teaching music, physical education and volunteering work.
A native English speaker with working knowledge of Italian, Zara brings a diverse set of academic, professional, and cultural experiences that position her well for a future career in law and international policy environments. With her diverse educational and professional background, Zara’s engagement with the EduPlus spans collaborative ventures in youth activities, including exchange programs.
